Shipping Program Details

Unique Wood Floors is a specialist in residential shipping anywhere within the continental United States and Canada. We work with the leading provider of logistics in making sure your items arrive safely and timely at your residential or commercial locations.

Inventory items that we stock at our two central warehouses in Minnesota ready to ship at a moment’s notice. Products that are in stock will be shipped within 72 hours and expected to arrive within 3 to 7 business days. If a product or accessory which you have ordered needs additional time to fulfill we will combine shipping for your entire order. Special order items may add an additional 2 week lead time to ship out of our warehouse.

Once your order has been shipped, tracking information will be emailed. Flooring orders with 3 or more boxes will be shipped via curbside freight. All other orders will be shipped via UPS or USPS parcel.

What is curbside shipping?

When your flooring order is finalized and ready to ship, it is packed and shipped from our warehouse to your location via our freight shipping partners.  Once your shipment arrives at the nearest freight terminal to your location a representative from the carrier will contact you to schedule your appointment in the next few business days. A time window will be designated once agreed upon by the receiver. If the time window is missed by the receiver, a re-delivery fee may apply.

Curbside shipping is delivered by box truck or semi-truck.  The freight carrier loads the truck with multiple shipments the previous night and the driver stops by each location for delivery the following day.

Upon arrival, the receiver will need to present a photo ID matching the purchaser on the original invoice. The freight driver will use a lift gate which is located on the back of their trailer to lower your freight to the ground level. At this point, the delivery is considered complete and you will be responsible for bringing each box inside. Box weight may vary from 30-85 lbs each, so be prepared and have someone there to help if needed as the freight driver is not responsible for bringing the product into your home.

Before signing the paperwork, be sure to count the boxes and accessories and inspect for exterior damages. If damage or missing items are inspected, mark this on the paperwork with the freight driver and take detailed photos as evidence. Unique Wood Floors and it's partner carriers reserves the right to deny claims without proper supporting evidence.

What if my contractor is receiving the order on my behalf?

If a 3rd party is receiving the freight and you cannot be present with your photo ID, please take the following steps to receive your shipment.

At the time of purchase before your order is shipped please send an email to sales@uniquewoodfloor.com with the following information:

  • Full name of your receiver
  • Phone number of your receiver

This will help ensure that the shipping company will have the correct contact information and will be able to schedule your delivery with your 3rd party receiver. Contact information and delivery address cannot be changed after the freight is en route.

What should I do after I receive the floors?

Please remember to bring the material inside the home for acclimating prior to installation. Acclimation time depends on the material type.
